Affiliate Marketing is Dead

I heard this a lot when I started my journey to start my first online business.  EVERYONE seemed to have a negative opinion about affiliate marketing and it had gotten a bad reputation like Multi-Level marketing has for the last several years.

Then I did some research and realized the following:

• AmWay – Leading MLM company with 8 billion ANNUALLY and the average income for a AMWAY rep is approximately $50K per year.
• Amazon, Alibaba, Rakuten are some of the largest affiliate businesses in the world.
• Amazon made 513, 000, 000, 000 in 2022.  That’s 9 zeros folks
• Alibaba made 134,000, 000, 000 in 2022.
• Rakuten made 19,000,000 in 2022

So I looked at the global statistics for affiliate marketing and found:

• As of 2023, the market value of affiliate marketing stands at a staggering $17 billion.
• The projected spending on affiliate marketing for 2023 is estimated to reach around $13 billion.
• It’s a well-known fact that affiliate marketing accounts for 16% of online orders in the United States.
• An impressive 83% of marketers utilize affiliate marketing to increase brand visibility.
• Interestingly, some of the world’s top businesses generate 5% to 30% of their online revenue through affiliate marketing.
• Nearly 80% of brands offer an affiliate program.
• Bloggers and review sites are the leading channels for affiliate marketing.
• Globally, there are over 10,000 companies and services related to affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is not only NOT DEAD, but it BOOMING!  Ebay, Walmart, Amazon, heck almost every company that sells products list an affiliate program on their webpage.

And why wouldn’t they?  If they can pay 1%-5% (sometime more) of the purchase price of an item that you recommend, I can almost guarantee you that is less expensive than TV, Cable, Radio, or Print advertisements.

To be an affiliate marketer requires training, tools, time, and dedication.  But the rewards can be great!
